District Meritorious Service Medal

Summary: Authorized in 1980, the District Meritorious Service Medal is awarded by the incumbent Vice Presidents General to select Compatriots in recognition of their long, faithful and meritorious service to the Atlantic Middle States Association. The medal is silver in color and suspended from a ribbon of blue, gold and white; a silver-colored bar with the inscription “Meritorious Service” is mounted on the ribbon. The medal’s obverse bears a relief of Thomas Jefferson and the reverse bears a pair of laurel branches with space to insert the recipient’s name and the date of presentation. It is available in miniature and comes with a certificate, which should be engrossed and presented with the medal. The medal is available in both large and miniature versions.

Subsequent Presentation: A Compatriot may receive this medal only once from a District; subsequent presentations are NOT authorized. Oak leaf clusters may be worn on the medal ribbon to signify the award of the medal by another conferring authority.
